Barnet v Crewe Alex 25/26 Preview - Try Again
I've got nothing personally against Barnet FC as a football club. Small, punching above their weight surrounded by heavy weights. What's not to like? Well, their handling the January 4th postponement so incompetently for a start. It's an utter disgrace how they dealt with it and it left the Alex's players & management massively inconvenienced, not to mention the Alex fans who had already set off on the day having to turn around half way there. But never mind, I'm not bitter.

Crewe Alex 25/26 Monthly Review - January
If I had to describe the month of January for the Alex in one word, it would be 'drifting'. They started the month 6 points off the play-offs and ended the month 6 points off the play-offs. No closer, no further away, but 6 games ticked off. So, what to make or a very up and down first month of 2026 for the Alex? This is my monthly review of January: Looking Back After a poor December, the Alex needed a good start to January and they got it at home to Cheltenham. Buoyed by th

Crewe Alex 1-0 Colchester United 25-26 Review - The Win They Needed
Lee Bell described the win against Barrow in their last home outing as the sort of win they needed. I disagree. It was a win we expected, given Barrow's place in the table. It wasn't a substantial challenge for the Alex as they won in 1st gear. This win today though is the win they needed. After dropping points in more winnable home games and playing a promotion contending rival, they needed to show they can hang with the better teams in the league, especially after 1 point f

Crewe Alex v Colchester United 25-26 Preview - Opportune Moment
It feels like the Alex's season feels like they are standing on top of a 3 sided pyramid, with 3 possible outcomes from here out on. They could find some consistency, bag a run of wins in the coming weeks, push up the table and surge into a play-off spot. See 11-12 for an example of them doing that. They could keep the season alive until the end, but lack the quality to catch up to the top 7 and finish somewhere between 8th and 14th. Or they could fall apart completely as the

Bromley 2-2 Crewe Alex 25-26 Review - Re-evaluate
I'm really not sure what to say about that game. Had I wrote the summary it at half time, it would have been scathing. It would have had a similar feel to it had the game ended on 93 minutes. But it didn't. It ended on 98, 5 minutes after the Alex scored their 2nd equaliser of the game to salvage what at half time looked like the most unlikeliest of points. Here is my review of the Alex's last gasp draw at Bromley: Context Maybe a point at a very average looking(on the night)

Bromley v Crewe Alex 25-26 Preview - Fortress
If there has been a bigger surprise than Bromley in recent L2 memory, I'd like to see them. Maybe Crawley in 23-24 I suppose. But to see the Ravens top the table with a healthy lead after 27 games is incredible. Especially given I was deeply unimpressed with them last season as the Alex smashed 6 past them in 2 games. I wasn't even wowed when they came away with a 1-0 win at Gresty Road in October. But boy do we have to sit up and take notice of them now. Here is my preview o
